A large study released on Oct. 25 found that powerful computer tomography (CT) scans are able to detect lung cancer at its earliest and most curable stage in 85% of patients. When followed by prompt surgical removal, those patients had a 10-year survival rate of 91%, unheard of for a disease that kills most patients within a year or two of diagnosis.Save to My Web
